In preparation of the market research report the following will be included but not limited to;
- Current overview of the petroleum industry including pipelines & refineries
- Current overview of the engineering and construction industry pertaining to all industries including energy, mining, forestry, etc.
- Access to associated markets in surrounding regions
- End user contacts and characteristics and credibility
- Present technology and systems in use
- Banking standards and modes of operation with Canadian banks
- Regulatory bodies and standards used in engineering and construction
- Current regulatory requirements as they apply to business formation in Kazakhstan including;
- business registration requirements
- legal implications and establishment procedures
- licensing requirements
- taxation
- currency regulations
- employer and employee obligations
- banking and financing requirements and regulations
- insurance requirements
- intellectual property regulations
- industry specific requirements
- dispute mechanism and resolution
- language policy
- exchange controls, duties, customs and entry procedures, embargoes
- Tendering and bidding process and other requirements
- Employee availability as dictated by staffing requirements
- Office and other requirements including costs, availability, locations etc.,
- Competitor analysis
- Potential clients and markets including private, public, foreign
- International funding agencies and funded projects ( i.e. World Bank, CIDA etc. )

In the line of its duties AltMar will, but not be limited to the following;
- Provide a listing of all appropriate funding agencies such as World Bank, IDA, Asian Development Bank, European Bank of Reconstruction and Development which fund projects in Kazakhstan and could require the services that meet the company's services.
- Provide a listing of federal and provincial government departments and agencies that provide specific funding and assistance to Kazakhstan and the further development of business.
- Develop a suitable foreign contact data base to be used in further development of the Kazakhstan market place. This data will be industry specific and contain industry contacts, government contacts (both domestic and foreign) and other contacts that may in the course of business become beneficial to the success of the company.
- Through the course of the investigation process the name of the company will not be divulged unless beneficial to the development of its business in Kazakhstan and/or requested by the company. As previously noted the above information will be in addition to the specific requirements dictated by the company through individual meetings of senior staff.
Upon completion of the research and information gathering in Kazakhstan a debriefing will be held with the company to convey highlights of the research findings. A detailed report will then be prepared from all information gathered and then submitted to the company for their use.
